Urban City Life

A Short Introduction

urban houseLiving in the city is a fact of modern life which the majority of the UK population deals with on an everyday basis. From long commutes to large crowds, traffic-choked streets to grime and pollution, life living and working in the city can often be less than desirable. It doesn’t have to be this way however! With urban regeneration projects, great architectural designs and the push for cities to become more ‘green’, city life is slowly evolving into a people-friendly experience.

Luckily local councils and the national government have realised that inner-city living needs to be clean, modern and friendly in order to bring back the masses that have relocated to the suburbs. As such there are huge redevelopments being undertaken to replace old rundown buildings with new, comfortable apartments designed in the most modern and high-tech manner. New green areas are being designated, replacing decrepit sites with sprawling parks and bikeways. Fantastic shopping and hospitality areas are being built up, filling cities with modern restaurants and cafes, clubs and pubs. Facilities are being improved to reduce commute times, clean up the transport systems and make the streets and pavements safer.

Now could be the perfect time to consider moving back to the inner city areas while the property prices are still relatively affordable. If the regeneration trend continues along the same path it has begun on over the last few years, city life will soon be incredibly desirable – not just for first-time buyers, but for young couples, professionals, and small families.
